Medical Thermography
Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging
Medical thermography uses non-invasive Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging (DITI) to capture and document thermal patterns at the surface of the body. Unlike anatomical imaging, DITI provides physiological information that can be used adjunctively alongside other appropriate medical evaluation and testing.
There is no radiation, compression, or contact with the body during imaging. RefPoint offers breast and full-body thermography, with images professionally interpreted and a written report provided following your study.

Choose Your Thermography Study
Whether you're establishing a breast thermal baseline, continuing an existing thermography history, or seeking additional physiological information related to pain, injury, or changes in how your body feels, RefPoint offers private, appointment-based thermography in Kennewick.
Breast Thermography
Establish your individual thermal baseline.
Begin with our Breast Baseline Package, a two-part study used to establish your individual thermal baseline for future comparison.

Already have an established thermography history? RefPoint welcomes returning MediTherm/EMI clients looking for a new imaging location. Continue your follow-up imaging while maintaining continuity with your established thermography history.
Full-Body Thermography
A broader view of physiological thermal patterns.
Full-body DITI documents thermal patterns throughout the body and may highlight areas of temperature asymmetry or change in areas of concern related to pain, injury, or other symptoms that warrant closer attention or further evaluation.
Â
Full-body imaging may be scheduled independently or combined with breast thermography during the same visit.
Preparing for Your Thermography Appointment
Proper preparation helps reduce outside influences on skin temperature and supports consistent thermal imaging.

On the day of your appointment:
-
Do not smoke for at least 2 hours before your study.
-
Do not apply lotions, creams, powders, liniments, or similar topical products to the area being imaged.
-
Avoid strong sun exposure to the area being imaged.
-
Do not schedule physical therapy or electromyography (EMG) on the same day as your thermography study.
-
Do not change your normal diet or prescribed medications solely for your thermography appointment unless instructed by your healthcare provider.
-
Be prepared to remove jewelry and clothing from the area being imaged. Appropriate gowning and privacy are provided.

For breast thermography: Please let your thermography technician know about any recent skin irritation, lesions, inflammation, procedures, or other changes involving the breasts or surrounding skin.

You will have time before imaging for your skin temperature to adjust to the temperature of the imaging room.
Understanding the Role of Thermography
Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging is adjunctive and non-diagnostic. Thermography provides physiological information and DOES NOT replace mammography or other appropriate medical evaluation, diagnostic imaging, or testing.
